Privacy Policy for AppBeep

AppBeep commits to strong and transparent privacy practices. Below is some information on the types of personal information received and collected when you use and visit the site or Android app (AppBeep.com), what it’s for, what it’s collected, and how we safeguard your information. We never  sell any personal information collected first-hand to third parties.

INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets forth the privacy practices of AppBeep. and its current and future AppBeep Affiliates (collectively, “AppBeep”) for all AppBeep services and applications (including, without limitation, mobile software and applications) (collectively, the “Software”); the AppBeep websites located at www.AppBeep.com and any other AppBeep websites or services that link to this Privacy Policy, (collectively, the “Websites”); and all other AppBeep products or services provided or otherwise made accessible on or through the Software or the Websites or that otherwise link to or reference this Privacy Policy. The Software, the Websites, and any other AppBeep products or services that link or refer to this Privacy Policy are collectively referred to as the “Service.” This Privacy Policy describes how AppBeep collects, discloses, stores, transfers, and uses information that could individually identify our users (“Personal Data”) in connection with our Service.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties, as explained in more detail below. In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” “our,” and other similar references mean AppBeep, “you” and “your” and other similar references mean any user of the Service, and “AppBeep” means any parent, subsidiary, member, officer, director, employee, agent, or contractor of AppBeep or any entity under common control with AppBeep.

This policy applies (i) immediately to new users who use or access the Service on or after the Effective Date and (ii) on the Effective Date to users who use or access the Service before the Effective Date.

TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA

The Service is hosted in the United States (“U.S.”), with development, support and maintenance operations in other countries, through AppBeep team. If you do not reside in the U.S., laws in the U.S. (and other countries) may differ from the laws where you reside. By using the Service, you acknowledge that any Personal Data about you, regardless of whether provided by you or obtained from a third party, is being provided to AppBeep in the U.S. and will be hosted on U.S. servers, and you authorize AppBeep to transfer, store, host and process your information to and in the U.S., and possibly other countries. EU PERSONAL DATA

If you are located in the EU, United Kingdom, Lichtenstein, Norway, or Iceland, you may have additional rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) related to your Personal Data, as further described below.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT?

We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.”

Non-Personal Information:

It includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks.

Personal Identification Information:

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, subscribe to the newsletter, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

By subscribing, you are authorizing us to collect, store and use your email address in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information collected via Technology.

In an effort to improve the quality of the Service, we track information provided to us by your browser or by our software application when you view or use the Service, such as the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device from which you connected to the Service, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you.  We track this information using cookies, or small text files which include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to a user’s browser from our servers and are stored on the user’s computer hard drive. Sending a cookie to a user’s browser enables us to collect Non-Personal information about that user and keep a record of the user’s preferences when utilizing our services, both on an individual and aggregate basis.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Information you provide us through contact forms.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Log Files

As with most other websites you visit online we collect data contained in log files.

The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Shaw Cable), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.

Although we rarely ever log at the log files in question (they’re theoretically useful for tracking down bot attacks and the like) we’re obliged to tell you we do.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Cookies are used on this site to store information for analytics (seeing how many people visit the site, what pages they read, etc), social interaction (buttons to share on Facebook, etc), advertisements, and any additional features used on an individual articles (e.g., polls, quizzes, feedback forms).

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION

AppBeep uses Personal Data to: (i) provide, administer, and improve our Service; (ii) better understand your needs and interests; (iii) fulfill requests you make; (iv) personalize your experience; (v) provide Service announcements; (vi) provide you with information and offers from AppBeep, AppBeep Affiliates, and our business partners; (vii) protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, or illegal activity and (viii) comply with legal obligations.

Use of Personal Information:

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Site, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to user’s email address for purposes of sending emails from us.  Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you.  For example, we use Personal Information to contact users in response to questions, solicit feedback from users, send newsletters, and inform users about promotional offers.

Use of Non-Personal Information.

In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve the Service and customize the user experience.  We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. This Privacy Policy does not limit in any way our use or disclosure of Non-Personal Information and we reserve the right to use and disclose such Non-Personal Information to our partners, advertisers and other third parties at our discretion.

In the event we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another Company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred.  You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.  If our information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Site so that you may opt out of the new information practices. We suggest that you check the Site periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Other third party analytic services retain data for longer periods (26 Months+) and also provide an option to Reset on new activity(Reset the retention period of the user identifier with each new event from that user (thus setting the expiration date to the current time plus retention period)).

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA?

We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures.

However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software.  By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

As we use third party services like Google Analytics, Facebook pixel and others you can check the respective sites data privacy and security policies and measures.
